Philz Coffee in Redwood City

In need of some great coffee?  Interested in checking out some PATTERNS prints before deciding to spend the money to purchase some for your walls?  I have a select few now hanging on the walls at Philz Coffee in Redwood City, where you can also browse a couple of other artists' work while caffeinating and enjoying that coffeeshop atmosphere.

Philz Coffee is actually pretty great; every time I'm downtown I try to make the effort to grab a cup, which makes for a rather caffeinated photographer.  The gallery in charge of hanging art is Art Liaisons; if you decide to purchase photos in this installation, please purchase through them, since they have been kind enough to take me on as an artist.

Come check it out!  The installation should be around for the next two months.

 

Redwood City Art & Music on the Square this Friday

Come visit downtown Redwood City this Friday evening for Art & Music on the Square!

A band will be playing on the Courthouse Square, and local artists will be around displaying their arts & crafts, including me!  Just on the west side of the square, I'll have a small booth displaying some of the large PATTERNS prints, as well as some new products.  Come for dinner, stay for the festivities, and stop by and say hi.

Silicon Valley Open Studios

In less than a month I'll have the pleasure to join Silicon Valley Open Studios (svos.org) in their second weekend of SF Bay gallery showings.  A way for bay area artists to gather together and display works often in their studios or their friends' studios, SVOS creates a directory of local displays and organizes them into three weekends:  South Bay (May 7/8), Peninsula (May 14/15), and South Peninsula & Coast (May 21/22).

Alongside my friend Elaine McCreight, I'll be displaying select works from the newly published Patterns study and probably a few from the ongoing California study as well.  Come join us in Menlo Park during the day May 14 or 15 and check out what the prints look like in person, say hi to the artists, keep us company, etc.  We'll be open between 11am and 5pm.

Welcome to Squarespace

After a decade or two of dreaming about ways to visually display photographs for sale, I've found that the only way I succeeded in redoing my online presence was to let somebody else's product do the heavy lifting.  Although I love doing the complete package myself, you often have to realize (over and over again until it sticks) what you'd rather spend your time doing — for me, as you've guessed by now, it's taking photographs.

As I continue to build up the site, please feel free to reach out and let me know your thoughts.  It'll obviously have nowhere near my complete portfolio, but should contain at least a small curated batch of photographs that I've loved over the years, many of which are hanging already in my own home.  If you see a style you like and want to know if there are other related photos not yet photos, feel free to reach out.
